Presidents Letter

2025-2026

A Dr. Ed Young message reminded how we would all do well to practice the wisdom of the garden in our lives- to weed and plant.

Weed is defined as any plant growing where you don’t want it.  We get unwanted dandelions, thistles, stickers, and other typical weeds in our garden. Weed a little often. Keep the relentless weeds in reasonable control.  Ignoring them lets them become invasive and overwhelming. Weeding too much creates a blank and bare space without beauty and fullness.

Plant new plants with great variety of size, color, texture and timing.  Plant new plants, patiently plant seeds, propagate new plants from your existing plants.  Plant many natives that are meant to thrive in your environment and indulge in an occasional hothouse flower that requires extra attention.

Our beautiful gardens require a balance of continual weeding and planting.  Weeding applies to unwanted distractions, agitations, burdens and clutter in our schedules, relationships and responsibilities as well.  Planting applies to relationships, adventures and interests as well.

Balance of weeding and planting efforts satisfy our purpose, build our strength, yield a valuable reward of abundance and beauty to enjoy and share.

Thirty ONE-Derful years! And Thirty-One More….
