We hope you weathered the storm and everyone is safe. As temperatures warm many of your plants will start to recover while others may not. Losses are inevitable but you’ll be surprised at how resilient plants are, especially natives.
Business first: we are nearing the end of our club year and getting in gear for the next one. Bring your check book or cash to renew your membership $50 for 2021-22. We have a waiting list for new members and will be opening up enrollment in May. So as current members, please get your renewal in now!
Plant sale on March 20th: if you are not donating 10 plants for our annual fundraiser, we kindly ask that you contribute $20 to the treasury (check or cash). Let us know if you need containers, we have plenty! We also need volunteers and Sharon will pass around the sign-up sheet to work a shift. Plant sale is at Grogan’s Mill Farmers Market from 9 am to 1 pm. Now is a good time to invite your family, friends and neighbors and let them know we will have a selection of plants from our gardens, herbs, and unique craft items. Please get the word out on your social media and in your social circle.
Today’s meeting: Covid restrictions are still in effect and space is limited in the meeting room. You must RSVP to Kathy; seating is by reservation only; no guests. Do NOT enter at the main building. Go LEFT around the building and follow The Woodlands Garden Club signs for parking and easy access to our meeting room. Temperature check before entering; mandatory face covering; social distancing; hand sanitizer provided. If you don’t feel well, please stay home.
WHEN: 9 am to 11:45 am (come early to help with set up)
WHERE: Shenandoah Municipal Complex, 29955 I-45, Shenandoah, TX 77381
Our speakers are master gardeners Merrie Decker and Lawana Williams. Among other things, they work with the kids at Bear Branch Elementary in Magnolia on vermiculture (worm composting) and aquaponics through the Junior Master Gardeners Club.

Becky will present our horticulture program on the ZZ plant (Zamioculcas Zamiifolia) aka “Plant of Steel.”

Friendly reminder: bring your donations for Interfaith, the women’s shelter, and the animal shelter. Mary will also collect Easter gifts for the kids at the Women’s Shelter. Bring a bunny or other cutie — new, with the tag, please.
As usual, we will have delightful prizes in our drawing, and delicious food. If you are planning to bring a dish, please let Kathy know in advance.
Next hospice floral group meeting is on Tuesday, March 16th at Sharon’s house.
Happy gardening, we look forward to seeing you!
