Valentine’s Day is no longer just for couples to celebrate and appreciate one another, it is also an occasion for friends to honor their companionship – and The Woodlands Garden Club members enjoyed a spectacular celebration of appreciation. Big shout out to Betty Lahiri, February’s hostesses, and board members to come out on Monday and create the stunning decor of the meeting room.
Betty shared secrets of floral design and donated several flower arrangements for the drawing table. She brought in flowers and greenery and conducted a hands-on workshop. Look at all the pretty creations!
Mauri Holguin presented the plant study about Silver Squill, an eye-catching houseplant with attractive, lance-shaped leaves heavily mottled in silver and green. Mauri donated 2 plants for the drawing table. Sharon Podolski recruited volunteers for the upcoming plant sale, Vivian Cherry announced plans for 2 field trips, Cathy Neill reported on Federation, and President Sally Centrich announced TWGC’s participation in the District IV Spring Convention.

- Saturday, March 23 – Annual Spring Plant Sale at Grogan’s Mill Farmers Market. Members donate 10 plants from their garden; volunteers needed for all shifts including set up and take down. Contact: Sharon Podolski.
- Wednesday, March 27 – District IV Spring Convention “Milkweed for Monarchs” at Lone Star Community Center. Volunteers needed for set up and room decor. Contact: Sally Centrich.
- Tuesday, February 20 – Hospice Floral at Sharon’s house. Contact: Sherry Copeland
- Tuesday, February 20 (immediately following Hospice Floral) – Arts & Crafts project to make decorations for the District IV Spring Convention. Contact: Betty Lahiri
- Friday, April 19 – Field trip to Gardenscapes, home & garden tour in Kingswood. Contact: Vivian Cherry
