HAPPY NEW YEAR!
WHEN: 9 am to 11:45 am (come early to help with set up)
WHERE: Shenandoah Municipal Complex, 29955 I-45, Shenandoah, TX 77381
Meetings continue to be members only RSVP to Kathy required; no guests. Do NOT enter at the main building. Go LEFT around the building and follow The Woodlands Garden Club signs for parking and easy access to our meeting room. Temperature check before entering; mandatory face covering; social distancing; hand sanitizer provided. If you don’t feel well, please stay home.
We are starting the meeting with our speaker program and you need to be in your seat by 9:30 am. Teri MacArthur, the Environmental Education Specialist of The Woodlands Township will discuss problems with invasive species, particularly those impacting our pathways and beautiful green spaces. If you are interested in joining the task force, register here for the next training class on February 20th. Excited to get involved right now? Great! Teri can pair you with trained volunteers who can help you learn on the job.

Important club business: the new slate of officers will be presented. At the February meeting we will take nominations from the floor and vote for the 2020-2021 officers.
Spring plant sale: keep transplanting volunteer starts from your garden so they will have good roots and growth for the sale. We ask that everyone donate 10 well-rooted plants or make a $20.00 donation to our treasury. Let us know if you need containers, we have plenty! We don’t have an exact date yet but are planning for March or April.

Horticulture: Becky will present the plant study and we like to hear about your projects as well. What are you planning in your garden for 2021?
Community Service: Mary will be collecting non-perishable food for Interfaith, and blankets or food for the pet shelter. Keep in mind that the food banks are getting low right now, and probably, the supplies for our furry friends, too. Mary also collects toiletries for the Women’s Shelter. Pick up an extra pack of soap or some hand lotion while shopping. THANK YOU!
Hospice Floral Group: Join us on January 19th to create small flower arrangements for two local hospices. It’s a lovely gesture and a good way to get to know your fellow members. We meet at Sharon’s house at 9:30 – and there’s always food, too!

We look forward to seeing you and happy gardening!
