TWGC Culinary Delights – Indian Cooking

It is no surprise that many gardeners are also great cooks. A look at the pictures of the luncheon buffet at our monthly meetings will definitely make you hungry! We are privileged to have many members from many different countries who make their family recipes for us. We always look forward to Raksha Patel’s dishes and she graciously invited us to a cooking class at her home. Raksha is from Gujarat State on the western coast of India and she also lived in Kenya. We helped prep the vegetables, baked and puffed Roti bread, learned about spice mixes (every family makes their own), and enjoyed a delicious luncheon.

Menu:

  • Murgh Makhani (Butter Chicken) with Rice
  • Bhinda Batata (okra and potatoes stir fry)
  • Made from scratch Roti with Ghee
  • Three Bean Salad
  • Gulab Jamun with ice cream

Thank you Raksha for a wonderful experience!
