The Woodlands Garden Club has participated in the Wildflower Festival since 1994. We remain deeply committed – now more than ever – to providing our community with the plants & seeds you need to be successful in your gardens.
TWGC Ways & Means Chair Sharon Podolski, a co-founder of the club, organized another fabulous event with the help of our many volunteers. On Friday afternoon cars were loaded with plants, ladders, benches, screens, boxes and boxes of wreaths and ornaments that we worked on for months. On Saturday morning everybody got busy sorting and pricing plants, putting together screens for the beautiful wreaths and ornaments, pumpkins and bows. Betty is like a fairy godmother and worked her magic with the displays. Mary set up the cashier station and the beautiful totebags she makes and donates to us. Raksha arranged the pinecone peanut butter birdfeeder table for the kids and we were ready to go!
We had an amazing variety of plants propagated from members’ own gardens, and our Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists, and horticulture & pollinator experts were happy to answer gardening questions.
The annual Wildflower Festival is one of the longest running in The Woodlands with a focus on the key aspects of our community, nature and family. Hundreds of free Wildflower seed packets are distributed, and participants also enjoy performances, wildflower crafts, bounce houses, food trucks, and a bluebonnet planting ceremony.
Thanks to Detlev and Viviane for the pictures.
