The members of The Woodlands Garden Club are an active bunch and we love exploring new places, plant shopping, and EATING! Last week we went on another superb field trip with Donna Marie Thornton and learned about Montgomery, birthplace of the Texas flag, spotted wildflowers along State Highway 105, shopped at A&A Plants and Produce, and dined in the historic Hodge Podge Lodge.
A&A is a full service garden center with plant nursery, gift shop, and chicken coop.
The gift shop features handmade pottery the owner acquires from twice-yearly trips to Mexico, and a variety of local products, books, birdhouses, tools, gloves, fertilizer, and more.
Check out the variety and planting ideas in the Cactus House!
Chicks and ducks and rabbits, oh my!
Donna Marie reserved a private dining room with ensuite bath for our luncheon at Hodge Podge Lodge, built in 1854 and surrounded by 300 year old Pecan trees and gorgeous manicured grounds. The food is amazing, let’s eat!
Fun in the garden and a history lesson on the way back.
